BOARD AND ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

Carlos Javier Novoa Saenz - President
I’m the face of the association, the representative for legal entities, and other organizations. In charge of guiding it in order to fulfill our mission and vision. I also have the task of expanding our work nationally and internationally. Finally, I must constantly accompany all the other members of the association's council of directors.

Yedselt Valentina Ospina Serrano - VPI
I'm in charge of working for the internal development of the association, supporting the members of the executive board (EB) in complying with their work plan, being part of the commission that is responsible for accompanying events, acting as a mediator in conflicts and problems that involve local associations and the EB, planning the annual meeting of the EB, working closely with local associations and national officials and guaranteeing the proper internal functioning of our association. All of the above, through articulated work with the EB, local associations and of course with a great team of local vice presidents.

Paula Natalia Dominguez Alvarado - VPE
Vicepresident for External Affairs. (VPE?) I am in charge, together with my work team, of establishing a direct relationship with everything that is outer of ASCEMCOL, I do direct contact with sponsors and we generate agreements to work with them on behalf of ASCEMCOL, all this working with the presidency . On the other hand, we help our ASCEMCOL members to be part of all the external representation that we can participate, IFMSA, FELSOCEM events or events of some of our agreements such as assemblies, brigades, congresses, among others. In addition, we are in charge of guiding the new future Local Associations (LA), looking for potential LA in universities that are not yet linked to us. Finally, we work with the National Advertising and Media Officials to strengthen our image at a national and international level.

Jairo Alberto Medina Salazar - Treasury
My responsabilitys are to preserve and ensure the proper management of the assets of ASCEMCOL, all of this with the presidency. In addition, together with my work team, the Network of Treasurers of Local Associations, we intend to seek strategies that allow the increase of patrimony from Local Associations, facilitating the payment of the annual support fee, thus seeking, jointly, the economic strengthening of ASCEMCOL, allowing it to be used for its benefit and for its operation, maintenance, growth and projection.

Valentina Brito Alvilez - General Secretariat
I made and keep in order all the minutes of the meetings that we have as Board or EB and those of the general assemblies (GA) or extraordinary assemblies (EA) of ASCEMCOL, so that they can later be consulted, in addition, together with the presidency we prepare and sign all the documents that are necessary for the association. Likewise, I am in charge of preparing the agenda together with the rest of the EB for carry out each GA or EA with a stipulated agenda and according to the needs of the association and each committee and after this, i designed and sent a survival kit to each local association so that their delegates and sub-delegates learn about the dynamics of the assembly.

Sergio Andrés Molina Montealegre - Fiscal
My job is always to ensure the proper functioning and organization of the Association. The Office of the Prosecutor is a position for control, observation and regulation of all the processes that are carried out within ASCEMCOL, always seeking to preserve the Association from any difficulty or problem that may arise. As a regulatory entity we are here to help all the members of the Association, to be a support and a guide in times of difficulty or doubt. We are a network of prosecutors willing to help, serve and preserve ASCEMCOL's statutes.

Amada Rosa Morales López - Permanent Secretariat
I’m in charge of the conservation and management of the academic, financial and administrative archives of the association; digitize the entire database and history of ASCEMCOL and maintain good communication among its members. Among some of the most important functions that a file of each local association is being carried out with information that includes: affiliation, members, activities carried out, among others.

I’m the person in charge of coordinate the activities, campaigns and projects relates with the SCORP theme. You can come to me if you want to participate in some of the national activities that we are realizing; if you want to take advantage of the opportunities of support and participation in international trainings or campaigns; if you need orientation in how develop your own local or national activities with a Human Right focus, aimed at build peace or provide humanitarian aid; if you want know more about SCORP and the topics that it takes, and receive capacitation and education.

Camilo Andrés Torres Tavera - NPO
I am here to support local, regional and national initiatives, these can be activities, projects or campaigns for health promotion and disease prevention, in this way our committee is always in contact with people because one of our pillars is community intervention; we are also interested in public health policies and how they work both nationally and internationally; in addition the committee promotes peer learning in the various health brigades. We have several projects underway of which you can also be a part.

I am the person in charge of coordinating the professional exchanges of ASCEMCOL students. My job is to be the communication channel between students from Colombia and their destination country. Through the CPRII-SCOPE committee our students gain access to a great number of opportunities that help them to be part of other cultures, understand other health systems and learn what it is like to study medicine in another country. In addition, with the NEO In, we coordinate activities of the committee in terms of promoting international academic mobility.

Amalfy Piedad García Lombana - NEO-IN
I am the person in charge of coordinating the assignment of all foreign students who wish to come to Colombia for clinical internships or to see non-clinical course classes, in the universities that have the capacity and requirements to receive them. In addition, in collaboration with the "NEO OUT", we coordinate activities of the committee on issues related to the promotion of international academic mobility.

Capacity Building Division is ASCEMCOL's most important tool for evaluating and building medical capabilities and skills specific to each of its associates in the search for the generation of full, proactive and self-aware physicians. Our events, workshops, sessions and protocols seek to empower medical students in the 19 cities in which our association is present, generating spaces for professional and personal growth. Hellen Giseth Bonilla Vergara - NPM
We are responsible of looking after the association´s image and it´s correct diffusion. Another of our duties is to listen to National and Local Officer´s ideas, and try to capture and project them in publicity. Additionally, we capacitate and give Local Officers accompaniment in marketing and publicity to raise all of the Local Association´s images, and with so ASCEMCOL´s, because more than a division we are a family. We are also responsible of creating and distributing our official products, and we are behind of the maintenance of this web page, the official blog, social networks and much more.

Salomé Guerra Villegas - CoNPM

Carolina Medina Miranda - NECOS
I am the person who works with the Board of Directors, the Committees, the Divisions and directly with the Local Associations to implement in their work plans a more eco-sustainable vision and projects or activities with the mission of working from ASCEMCOL in favor of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). You can participate in the growth process of DECOS or in the activities that are carried out, educate yourself a little more on environmental issues, the SDG and how they are integrated with medicine, in order to contribute initiatives in your day-to-day life. can promote the creation of alternatives for these topics.
FELSOCEM

We're part of the General Assembly of the federation on behalf of each of the associations that belong to ASCEMCOL, we participate in ordinary and extraordinary assemblies and in other meetings programmed by committees and zone meetings, our objective is make the best decisions for our association within FELSOCEM, in addition to having them informed of each new opportunity to participate (projects, activities, scholarships, courses, congresses) and to render reports to the FELSOCEM directives when required. Likewise, oversee that each FELSOCEM position is carrying out their respective tasks and complying with the statutes.

As a member of C.A I provide research advice in the area of public health, epidemiology and anesthesiology. Similarly in administrative matters and holding academic, scientific and social projection events.

Dr. Santiago Loaiza Betancurt - A.C. Member
As a member of A.C, I provide advice on the organization of events, disciplinary matters (including COES) and procedural matters of the Association, as well as academic initiatives related to antibiotic resistance and bacterial infections.
